This years Phoenix on Saturday December 16 is set to go up another level, as The Meadows again gets transformed into a fiery racing colosseum. Slot holders will no doubt line the trackside fences, terraces and grandstand as they dine, party and cheer home their chargers.

2022 saw GRV launch the Dream Chasers Festival, a high octane five week racing series. It’s back bigger and better in 2023. Again it will see The Phoenix be the final race meeting in the series and the brightest event of all five.

A history full of 'wow' moments.

First run in December 2021, The Phoenix is the newest, most exciting race to hit the greyhound racing calendar in recent memory. In 2022 the event become the richest greyhound race in the world, with a total prize pool of $1.65 million and a $1 million winner’s cheque.

Both editions of The Phoenix thus far saw unprecedented media coverage and the Jackie Greenough trained ‘Wow She’s Fast’ go back-to-back, elevating her as the highest prize money earning greyhound of all time. Raced by slot holder Sportsbet, the big question sits as to whether this dream chasers team will again partner and complete an amazing three-peat in 2023.
