Whether you're a business, a greyhound lover, club, organisation or a group of friends – you're welcome to apply and be in the race for the $1 million prize cheque and the $1.65 million in prize money. Anyone can apply, however, should you be one of the eight chosen by the Melbourne Greyhounds independent Phoenix Racing Panel, you'll need $100,000 to secure your place.

What is well known by all past slot holders and their own experiences, is the lead up to the race, the exposure and the chance to make your fortune is real. And prizemoney is paid all the way down to 8th place, with places 5, 6, 7 and 8 each receiving $50,000.

2. Pick your chaser

When you head out to the The Meadows to watch world-class greyhound racing, you can choose to place a bet on any runner you like. Slot holders too have the same freedom – however, they get to choose who'd they'd like to have run on their behalf in the race.

Please note, The Phoenix welcomes children on-course, however this event is more dedicated to adults (18 and above). Families are encouraged to attend the Topgun Race Night on Saturday November 8th should they wish to be part of the Dream Chasers Festival. Family orientated entertainment is planned for that night.
