Meadows Racing

Welcome to The Meadows, headquarters of the Melbourne Greyhound Racing Association and Australia’s premier greyhound racing track. It’s the home of eleven Group 1 races each calendar year including the world’s richest greyhound race – The Phoenix.

A world-class greyhound racing track.

The Meadows opened to great fan fare and a capacity crowd in 1999. Aptly named, thanks to it location in the suburb of Broadmeadows, it’s become many peoples favourite track for watching  world-class greyhound racing.

Owners, trainers and greyhound enthusiasts alike all hold The Meadows in highest regard with the venue, the racing and the hospitality offerings all sitting at the pinnacle of Australian greyhound racing.

A ‘city win’ at this track, especially if it’s one of the eleven Group 1’s, can make any participants feel immortal!

Every Wednesday from 5pm is race night at The Melbourne Greyhounds. Entry to the track is FREE. It means anybody can pop in for a quick sit down meal in our Midas Room (and take in a race or two) should you wish to spend the twilight and evening with us watching the stars rip around the track

Our concourse level Midas Room Cafe & Bar is always open and serves a great range of delicious dishes. Think Steak Sandwiches, a Parma & Pot, Gourmet Pies, Hot Chips, Soups, Cakes, Slices and Barista made Espresso Coffee – all prepared fresh by our in-house chefs, and importantly, at very reasonably prices.

There’s also plenty of free parking on the grounds, making a quick bite on the run home simple and easy, as well as plenty of indoor and outdoor spots to dine. Why not grab a group and make an night of it? Children are always welcome - we have plenty of offerings that they too, will enjoy.
