Independent Assessment Panel Finalised for The Phoenix

The Independent Assessment Panel (IAP) has been finalised ahead of this year’s edition of The Phoenix, with the panel set to play a key role in the selection process for the world’s richest greyhound race.

The independent panel has been established to provide a fair, transparent and objective assessment of slot applications, with each application considered on its merits.

Melbourne lawyer John Gdanski has been appointed Chair of The Phoenix Independent Assessment Panel, replacing outgoing Chair Denis Napthine.

An experienced legal practitioner, Gdanski brings extensive expertise across business structuring, trust law, banking and finance, arbitration and dispute resolution.

Gdanski also brings significant experience in sport and governance, having served on the boards of prominent organisations including St Kilda Football Club, Basketball Victoria and Ciaron Maher Racing.

The final panel represents another important step towards this year’s running of the iconic event, with the countdown to The Phoenix now well underway.
