Hector magic wows The Meadows Easter crowd

Age is yet to define this magical chaser, as ‘Stanley’ again shows his love for The Meadows track.
Hector Fawley always seems to save his best for The Meadows. Victoria’s Greyhound of the Year for the 2023-24 season now boasts a 25% winning strike rate over the 525 trip at our venue.
The former Hume Cup Winner was on show on Saturday night in the new GRV Veterans Special Event Class, where his old dash saw him hitting the line in an eye-catching 29.706, blitzing the field by 8 lengths. The race included veterans Trooper Tears (2nd) and another Meadows favourite, Gary Stun On (3rd). The sub 30 second performance once again showed that ‘Stanley’ still has the speed to match it with the inform chasers and plenty of life in his old legs.

It was only back in March that Ian and Lisa Cockerell announced that after retiring the Group 1 winning Victorian he was set for a shock return. His return has now added to his wonderful record, seeing him reach 27 career wins across 80 starts and amassing over $789,000 in prize money.
Stanley’s next run is scheduled for Thursday night (April 24th) at Sandown Park, in another Veterans S/E race.
