Girl’s Night Out raises $3000 for Look Good Feel Better

It was smiles and cheers all round as more than 100 ladies took the opportunity to dine, cheer & party at ‘The Meadows’.

Simply going by the cascade of pink outfits and additional garments flowing through the main doors of our first ‘Girl’s Night Out’ Charity Fundraiser since 2019, you could tell easily tell the night was bound to be roaring success. And it hit the mark on many levels, with one of the most important aspects of raising money for Look Good Feel Better.

Look Good Feel Better is a wonderful FREE women’s service that assists patients to Face Cancer with Confidence. The Melbourne Greyhounds have been a proud partner and supporter of this great service for many years now, offering our venue free of charge for consultations. Tonight was our chance to raise further awareness and funds.

On the night, with the help of a very generous group of guests, we raised a fabulous $3000 for Look Good Feel better. A big Bonanza style raffle, offering close to 20 sensational prizes contributed $1700. A further $1300 was donated by the MGRA, with $500 coming through a fun race focussed initiative on the night.

It was agreed that every time the dog wearing the pink number 8 rug saluted the MGRA would donate $500 to Look Good Feel Better. Although only one ‘pink’ dog was able to get the chocolates in the twelve race card, the shrills of delight that erupted in the dining room was a spectacular sight to behold! Along with special compere Molly Haines, who kept the crowd well versed on the racing component and all the FREE activities on hand, it was hugs all around when Swindled charged home in the aptly name race 6  – ‘Girl’s Night Out’

Pleasing recounts from guests on the night relating to the delicious wine tasting run Lucy from Delegat Wines, live music, relaxing Chair Massages, insightful Tarot Readings and the super entertaining 360 degree Photo Booth, no doubt sets us up for a repeat run of this event next year.

What was also particularly pleasing to hear was the rave reviews on the food. Compared to last time this event was run, the shift from ‘The Meadows Buffet’ to a 3-course fine dining had many singing the praises of head chef Steve and his expert team of foodies. The desserts, as they should always be, were a highlight. As were the complimentary ‘Pink Lady’ cocktails on arrival created by Hospitality Manager Harry.

The MGRA sincerely thanks all those who attended and made the night a fabulous occasion. We also wish to thank those who kindly donated prizes (Kmart, Harvey Norman, Nancy Bird, Delegat Wines, Wellness By Katy and Hume Nutrition) in support of raising funds for Look Good Feel Better.
