Melbourne Cup Eve Family Night

We have made the tough decision to postpone our Monday Melbourne Cup Eve Family Night event due to the unfavourable weather forecast and safety concerns.

The planned outdoor activities inability to be safely prepared and run on the night, along with our venues ability to provide enough undercover spaces for the expected crowd to be accommodated and kept dry, has lead to the decision. Peoples safety, especially children, are our priority.

The scheduled race night will proceed as per a regular Saturday Race Night. Those wishing to attend are most welcome. The City View Bistro will be open (a dinner reservation is required), along with our Midas Sports Bar.

We are working on hosting this event closer to the end of the year. Date to be advised.

The first Tuesday in November gifts us a wonderful opportunity to gather with family and friends and watch the ‘race that stops the nation’. It also offers a chance to roll into that Tuesday with a little Melbourne Cup Eve celebrating.

If you’re looking to do just that, the Melbourne Greyhounds is the place to go. Monday November 3rd (Melbourne Cup Eve), is our ‘Cup Eve Family Night at The Meadows’. For those who’ve never attended this great calendar event before, a Melbourne Cup Eve at ‘The Meadows’ are heaps of fun.

The Melbourne Greyhound Racing Association’s team throw the gates open and put on a great night of family friendly entertainment, all centred around our favourite friends – the greyhounds and FREEBIES!

Always a moving feast of entertainment options, there will no doubt be a few extra additional surprises on the night, but here’s the list of FREE activities and food children (and parents) will get to enjoy at our Cup Eve Family Night:

  • Play some giant Inflatable Games
  • Get your Face Painted
  • Watch our FRE Bubble Show
  • Snack on FREE Carnival Foods (Fairy Floss, Popcorn Cups and Snow Cones)
  • Dine like a king in the City View Bistro ($13 children’s meals – booking required)
  • Grab a FREE entry into our Family Prize Draw (2 x eScooters and 2 x Nintendo Switch 2s and more to be won)
  • Enjoy a FREE ‘I Love the Dogs’ Showbags (for the first 300 kids)
  • Pat and cuddle a super friendly GAP Dog
  • Grab a bite or drink from our Food Van Precinct

In addition our concourse level Midas Sports Bar will be open for food and beverage purchases. Enjoy $5 schooners of beer and cider from 5.30pm to 7.00pm.

Entry to our Melbourne Cup Eve Family Night is FREE, as is parking. No ticket is required to attend, just roll in with the family and your friends.
