1st: Wow She's Fast - Sportsbet
Jacqueline Greenough
Victorian champion Wow She’s Fast became the first greyhound in the world to surpass $2 million in prize money when she went back-to-back in the $1.65 million Phoenix (525m).
Her victory in the inaugural race had attributed $750,00 to her winnings, however this year she and Sportsbet were chasing a winners cheque of $1 million. Many were calling it a ‘race within a race.’ Three sprinters were striving to create history by becoming the first greyhound to break the once unthinkable $2 million prize money barrier – McInerney (representing RSN), She’s a Pearl (representing TAB) and Wow’s She’s Fast (representing Sportsbet). It was a hot field with some astonishing history to be made.
And it did not disappoint the huge crowd who watched on or the historians who needed to add a new record to their books!
