Starting Saturday October 12 and on every following Saturday Race Night in October we’ll be celebrating Oktoberfest in the City View Bistro.

This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy everything that is great about this fabled Munich Beer Festival and catch a unique Saturday Race Night in the City View Bistro at The Meadows. Across these three nights we’ll be serving our new Summer Bistro Menu as well as a selection of traditional German dishes. There’s no doubt our Deutsche Platte mit Stadtblick für Zwei (City View German Platter for two) will get you in the Oktoberfest mood.

This delicious platter features:

• Slow Roasted Pork Ribs with a Black Beer Sauce
• Weiner Schnitzel, served with Lemon Wedges
• Bratwurst Sausages
• Sauerkraut
• Mash Potato
• Buttered Beans 

It’s more of a mouthful than it is to say the name of it in German! And it might just feed a family of four. There will also be live music between races and FREE children meals.

And of course, to wash it all down you can grab a limited edition Melbourne Greyhounds Branded 560mL German Beer Stein to take home for only $18, filled with your favourite ice-cold Aussie or German drop to toast the night. PLUS, when you bring your glass back to the bar we’ll refill it for $8. That’s close to a pint of beer for just $8. Now that’s classic German Oktoberfest hospitality.
