Sportsbet Emerald 2026 – Race Conditions Released
The Healesville Greyhound Association has officially announced the conditions for the 2026 Sportsbet Emerald Race Series, set to light up the straight this March.
Since inception in 2023, the unique short-course showdown has delivered high speed and a thrilling twist on traditional finals qualification – where time, not finishing position, determines who advances.
The final, unlike the four-dog heats, assembles the eight fastest qualifiers to compete in a traditional eight-dog final.
Set over the 300m journey, the race has seen straight track superstars Unleash Collinda (2023), Destructively (2024) & Serial Sticker (2025) take out the short-course feature.

Worth $25,000 to-the-winner, the series is set to attract straight track superstars from across Australia to compete.
A Consolation Final will also be conducted for greyhounds recording the 9th–16th fastest times, with reserves drawn from the 17th and 18th fastest times.
On final day, Sunday March 8th, there will be live music from 12-3pm with the Piano wizard, Andrew Farrell playing the best of Billy Joel, Supertramp, Ray Charles, Leon Russell, Elton John and much, much more!
