Interstate rockets set to light up The Meadows

While the Melbourne Cup takes centre stage in the greyhound world this weekend, The Meadows is set to host two interstate rockets as The Phoenix continues to take shape.
Cumbria Jack, set to represent Metro Jetting in the world’s richest greyhound race, will be first cab off the rank with his trial scheduled for after Race 3 on Thursday night that will be televised LIVE on Sky 2.
After a minor setback that ruled the dual metropolitan track record holder out of The Topgun, his whole preparation has been tailored towards December 13.
However, the fun is not restricted to just Thursday night – Friday will see an audition for The Phoenix with Blue Blend making the trip down from Queensland in order to put itself in the frame for selection in The Phoenix.
Trained by Jeff Crawford, Blue Blend recently took out the rich Lakeside Cup worth $100,000 to-the-winner at The Q1 Lakeside track and is a former track record holder at both Q2 (520m) & Q1 (457m).
