Experts Have Their Say: Who Wins the 2025 Maturity Classic?

All-in markets are traditionally a tough way to find value and when you add the ‘win-and-you’re-in’ aspect of the eight heats of this year’s Maturity Classic, it becomes an even more difficult task.

But we decided to have some fun and set the ‘experts’ the task of finding you the overall winner of the Group 1 Maturity Classic – and as a byproduct of that, a winner (or two) in the heats.

THE FAVOURITES

Saquon – $6
Dashing Slay – $7
Sooty Keeping – $11
Robert Keeping – $14
Wyong Dallas – $14

Please note: All odds are provided by Sportsbet at the time of publishing (10.45am on 19/07) – they may fluctuate.

THE ‘EXPERTS’ SELECT

Jason Adams

Wyong Dallas ($4.20 heats, $14 all-in)
The son of multiple-G1 winner Gypsy Wyong and Fernando Bale is bred for the big stage. In his first 15 starts he didn’t miss a spot on the podium. He’s got Group race pace and meets this series at a great time of his career.

Nathan Rooney

Paw Barton ($6.50 heats, $67 all-in)
Heads into the Maturity with confidence having not missed a top-two finish in his last seven starts including breaking 34 seconds at his last outing at Sandown over 595m – he will be looking to roar past them late.

Corey Smith

Taw Galaxy ($5.50 heats, $21 all-in)
Victorian’s may not know this NSW raider’s name yet but you will – he is highly talented. While he has drawn one of the tougher heats on the program, I don’t think his map in the heats is as bad as it first seems. Should improve immensely if he manages to make the final.

Lakeview Jude ($19 heats, $301 all-in)
The recent Bendigo Roses winner is having her first crack around two-turns under race conditions and faces one of the all-in favourites in Dashing Slay but she loves a wide draw and you’re taking a monster price about the daughter of Lakeview Walter being ready to fire.

Mitch Ebeyer

Amron Mick ($4 heats, $61 all-in)
Only 9 starts into his career but is coming off a good win last week against a handy line-up at this track and trip including series favourite Saquon, Nigel Devere & Highly Connected.

Dan Hibberd

Slick Splits ($3 heats, $16 all-in)
Trained by big race performers in Team Dailly, this bloke has won three on the bounce including a dominant 29.81 win in FFA company last start here and is undefeated from Box 4 – his draw in the heat.
