$56,000 TO THE ROYAL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

Friday afternoon, the Victorian Greyhound Racing Industry handed over $56,000 to the Good Friday Appeal live on Channel 7. GRV Chair Peita Duncan was joined by Carl McGrath and Tracey Fothergill of the Shepparton Greyhound Racing Club to hand over the cheque.
The Victorian Greyhound Racing Industry has raised more than $367,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal over the years.
Throughout March and April, 11 active clubs have held a range of fundraising events and activations to raise money. Efforts will continue throughout April. The Good Friday Appeal coincides with Greyhound Adoption Month, and to celebrate this, our Official Wagering Partner Sportsbet, have joined the fundraising effort. Sportsbet will donate the adoption fee of $100 for every greyhound rehomed through GAP in the month of April.
So far, Shepparton Greyhound Racing Club lead the donation leaderboard with an outstanding $10,785 inclusion from their Shepparton Cup night. Ballarat sits in second place with $4,278 donated with a creative fundraising campaign led by track photographer Peter Morganti who walked 94 laps of the Ballarat track for the 94th year of the Good Friday Appeal.
Here at the Melbourne Greyhounds, $1625 has been raised through the spinning of our Big Appeal Wheel and the generosity of visitors. The MGRA will contribute a further $3375 to round this total to $5000.
It’s still not too late to show your support. Head to the Melbourne Greyhounds Good Friday Appeal page to donate to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
